Windy City Habitat for Humanity

Mike Miazga is Tribune Company’s VP of Planning & Process Improvement, where he leads and oversees a number of strategic initiatives and process improvement efforts for the Publishing division, which is responsible for $2 billion in annual revenue and management of eight daily newspapers including the Chicago Tribune and Los Angeles Times.

Mike has 15 years of diversified strategy, project management and consulting experience across industries. Before Tribune, he worked at Northwestern Memorial Hospital on their process improvement team, leading a portfolio of Six Sigma and Lean projects across the hospital. Prior to Northwestern, he worked at Ernst & Young (later Capgemini) in a variety of capacities in their management consulting practice.

Mike has been involved with Habitat for Humanity since 1997. He has volunteered on a number of different week-long housing builds and Jimmy Carter Work Projects in Costa Rica, Mexico, Alabama, Kentucky and Chicago. He began volunteering with Windy City Habitat in August 2011 and was elected to their Board in September 2012.

Mike firmly believes in the mission and vision of Habitat for Humanity and sees incredible opportunity for Windy City Habitat to make a significant impact on the City of Chicago. Currently, Mike serves on the A Brush With Kindness Committee and assists with strategic planning.

Mike is divorced with two girls, ages six and four, and lives in Bridgeport. He is a graduate of the School of Engineering at the University of Notre Dame and of the Kellogg School of Management.
