Family Advocacy
Habitat Partner Families receive guidance and support from the Family Services Committee during their sweat equity period, prior to closing on their home. Each family is paired with a Family Advocate, a volunteer representative from the Committee who works with that specific family. Advocates promote effective communication between the family and the affiliate, assist with education and work goal tracking, and serve as the primary point of contact for each family in our homeownership program. This week, Windy City Habitat for Humanity is training 8 new advocates, who will be ready to work with families who have just joined our program. Interested in becoming a family advocate?
